Watch Emma Stone and Maya Rudolph Perform "Call Your Girlfriend" with Butter Tubs
It's been a few years since Anna Kendrick and Pitch Perfect sparked a widespread obsession with "the cup song," but now Maya Rudolph and Emma Stone are bringing it back.
Last night on Rudolph's talk show Maya & Marty, she invited the 27-year-old actress to perform an unlikely duet of Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend" over the cup song rhythm—but this time with butter tubs. (Consider this their version of Lennon & Maisy's cover of the same song back in 2012.)
"We're gonna try it for you for the first time tonight," Stone announced to the audience before they started their laid-back performance at a table onstage.
"Yeah. No pressure," Rudolph said. "Just two girls hanging out with butter tubs," she added.
"Ladies and their tubs," Stone joked, offering what we're hoping is their new band name.
The two then proceeded to sing and harmonize together flawlessly, clapping and tapping on the tubs as they went along, never missing a beat. We're already dying for Rudolph and Stone's next duet.
